What are co-insurance and co-takaful?
Co-insurance and co-takaful are
agreements on medical costs sharing where the certificate holder agrees
to bear a portion of the medical costs, before the balance is to be
settled by the insurance company or takaful operator.
The common practice is 10% from
the medical costs or RM300, whichever is higher, is to be borne by
the certificate holder.
If the medical cost is RM1,000,
RM300 is to be borne by the certificate holder.
If the medical cost is RM10,000,
RM1,000 is to be borne by the certificate holder.
